Getting children to learn the spelling rules is a task that generates more than some frustration. This is so because they are not always learned properly and that is reflected in what is written. In this sense, it is worth asking: What strategy is the most recommended to achieve memorization of the enormous variety of rules? The answer is very simple and this is writing. If spelling rules are written manually, they are better memorized.
According to new research developed by Pan Mueller and Daniel Oppenheimer, it was possible to show that those students who take notes, remember more details, improve their conceptual understanding, increase their ability to generalize information and even improve long-term memorization.
